" Dear Staff at Taupo de Bretts,

I put together a weekend away for my son Sean and his partner Cheryl. They both needed some time out from an extremely hectic time in Wellington. I had given them the choice of three different things and they chose a weekend at your place.

I spoke to Sean last night and he couldn't have been more enthusiastic and happy about everything, from the chalet and massage to the food and friendly service. It sounds like the weekend has served its purpose.

" We visited your hot pools today as 2 adults and 5 children having been in Taupo for 2 days. Most of our service experiences had been with unhappy people or could only say 'No we can't do that" and very average service experiences.

On arriving at your pools Amy welcomed us with a smile (our first smile in Taupo and we understand this when you are approached by 5 excited children!!) she explained your services and the options for us and made everything seem easy - even down to getting some drinking water.

So we want to say a special thanks to Amy - she made the 2 adults day and although this may not seem like a lot it was to us and therefore worthy of sending this email. Keep it up. " - Simon and Sharleen.

Just a note to thank you all for a fabulous stay at Taupo DeBretts Spa Resort last week - Wednesday to Sunday inclusive.

We loved staying in a superior lodge which was very warm and cosy and offered great facilities for our family with views out to the lake and mountains. The heated bathroom floors were an unexpected but nice surpirse. Thank your housekeeping staff for keeping our lodge spotless!

The whole family enjoyed the hot pools next door and the kids loved the dragon slide! We also enjoyed dining at the Ale Steak House (twice!) recommended by your lovely staff.

We would also like to thank Lee and the reservations team who kindly rearranged our accom so we could stay throughout our stay in a superior lodge instead of having to move to a cabin...

We will be back!

"...Saved the best to last - Accommodation was new, trendy modern room decor and fittings excellent. Bathroom very good with underfloor heating. Resort itself was very good Staff excellent great views and hot private pools. Breakfast at the Spa cafe on site and dinner at GPK restaurant adjacent was good. The Breakfast was the best breakfast we had on our tour. Overall Very good place to stay relax and unwind. We both had massage treatments, way above the norm, well done, 10 out of 10..." "...Great holiday destination for extended family groups. In January 2007 our extended family group of 7 adults and 6 young children aged 6 and under spent a delightful week at the De Bretts Resort Thermal park. We had booked three self contained units so only needed to take our clothing and food.....Most days we spent hours at the thermal pool complex - as guests of the resort we were entitled to a discount on the pool entry fee. There is an amazing dragon slide suitable for small children with an adult (once you work out how to go slower!). It's also a thrilling ride for adults and older kids.

The staff at De Bretts were extremely helpful - we especially appreciated the friendly daily cleaning staff. If you're looking for a reasonably priced holiday destination suitable for all ages, then I'd recommend you give De Bretts a try." Modkiwi (TripAdvisor)
